Leicester City manager, Brendan Rogers has explained why Kelechi Iheanacho was substituted in the 4-1 defeat to Bournemouth.
Iheanacho was substituted at half time while Leicester City was leading 1-0. He played a vital role in the Jamie Vardy opener.
Dennis Praet was brought in as his replacement at the Vitality Stadium leading to the 4-1 defeat.
Speaking after the game, Rogers said he substituted Iheanacho for a midfielder so as to provide defensiveness to their game.
He told a post-match conference: “(Iheanacho) wasn’t having one of his better games.
“The issue for us defensively was on the side of the pitch, because there was a lot of space for Wilf and Youri to cover,” he said.
