Some Kaduna residents hit the streets to celebrate after electricity was restored in their town.
A video that has gone viral showed the moment the residents wielding bottles and jerry cans as they were chanting โNepa, Nepa tadawoโ in Hausa, expressing their excitement over the return of power.
Recall the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) announced it has partially restored power to seven northern states affected by the outage due to the vandalization of the Shiroro-Kaduna transmission line.
The incident affected distribution to Lafia, Makurdi, Jos, Kaduna, Kano, Bauchi, and Gombe for nine days.
According to TCN, power was restored to the affected areas by 4:56 PM on Wednesday, following the repair of the 330kV Ugwuaji-Apir transmission line 1.
