Bayer Leverkusen Managing Director, Simon Rofles, has stated that Nigerian international Victor Boniface will no longer be joining Al Nassr.

The 24-year-old was on the cusp of joining the Saudi Pro League side after reaching an agreement with the Bundesliga title holders.

The Super Eagles star had agreed to personal terms with the Cristiano Ronaldo-led team in a deal worth €15m net per season in wages.

Boniface had also completed his medicals with the club ahead of the big-money move.

However, Al Nassr has withdrawn from the deal to pursue Aston Villa's Jhon Duran, who is said to be the club's primary target.

Rofles indicated that the club is happy Boniface is staying.

“There have been talks, but we are happy that he will be training with us today. I assume that he will stay,” Rofles said.

“He feels comfortable here, his attitude towards the club is unchanged.”
