Nigerian international Raphael Onyedika couldn't hide his excitement after finding the back of the net in a crucial UEFA Champions League clash against Manchester City.

The 23-year-old gave his side the lead on the stroke of half-time, silencing the Etihad faithful who desperately needed a win to secure qualification to the play-offs.

It was the first UCL goal for the Super Eagles star, but it wasn't enough as the Premier League title holders staged a comeback to turn the game on its head.

Mateo Kovacic began the comeback by scoring in the 53rd minute before an own goal from Joel Ordonez gave the Cityzens a 2-1 lead.

Savinho, who was subbed on at half-time for Ilkay Gundogan, sealed the victory for Pep Guardiola's side in the 77th minute.

Sharing his thoughts on the game in a post-match reaction, the midfielder stated that he was thrilled to have scored against Pep Guardiola's side.

“I don’t know how to put it, but it’s an amazing feeling to score my first goal in City’s stadium. I’m so proud,” Onyedika told Shina Oludare.

“We knew it would be difficult after we got the first goal; we were a bit sloppy. And when we conceded the first goal, they had more momentum and energy, so it was much more difficult for us because of our mistakes.”

Despite the loss, Club Brugge still managed to book qualification to the play-offs after finishing in the 24th position.
