CAF Footballer of the Year Ademola Lookman has emerged as a prime transfer target for clubs in the English Premier League.

The Nigerian international was crowned the best player on the continent following his remarkable campaign for both club and country.

The 27-year-old became the sixth Nigerian to clinch the award, following in the footsteps of Rashidi Yekini, Emmanuel Amunike, Victor Ikpeba, Nwankwo Kanu, and Victor Osimhen.

The Atalanta star beat the likes of Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi, Guinea's Serhou Guirassy, Côte d'Ivoire's Simon Adingra, and South Africa's goalkeeper Ronwen Williams to the prestigious award.

According to AllAfrica.com, Lookman's camp has contacted struggling title holders Manchester City and title contenders Liverpool over a possible deal.

The Reds have long been admirers of the Super Eagles star, having been linked with a move to Anfield since last summer.

Lookman's market value has skyrocketed to €55 million following his brilliant form in recent times, as per Transfermarkt.
