Former Chelsea midfielder Mikel Obi has slammed Manchester United skipper Bruno Fernandes following their draw away at Crystal Palace.
The Red Devils failed to replicate their brilliant performance against Southampton as they were held to a goalless draw at Selhurst Park on Saturday, September 21.
Despite being considered the best player on the team, Mikel Obi believes Erik ten Hag should have substituted the Portuguese international during the game.
“Bruno Fernandes on the pitch was absolutely rubbish the whole game. Just because he is the captain, you don’t have to leave him on the pitch. I know he is one of their best players,” Mikel Obi said on his podcast show.
Manchester United have now recorded two wins, two defeats, and one draw in their five Premier League matches this season.
Next up for Erik ten Hag’s side is a crucial fixture against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, September 29.
