Former Super Eagles midfielder John Mikel Obi has hailed Chelsea striker Nicholas Jackson following his impressive performance against West Ham in the Premier League last weekend.
The Senegalese international starred as the Blues thumped the Hammers 3-0 at the London Stadium on Saturday, September 21.
The former Villarreal forward scored a brace and assisted Cole Palmer for Chelsea’s third goal of the game.
The 23-year-old scored the opener inside the first four minutes before adding another in the 18th minute.
Reacting to Jackson’s performance on his podcast show, Mikel Obi, who has been a major critic of the Chelsea forward, described his performance as fantastic.
He added that it is good to see the player responding constructively to his criticism.
"What a performance! It is amazing to know that we’re doing something good here [on the podcast show]. We’re here basically to help the team and the players. We’re not here to put any player down or to criticize, the 2013 AFCON winner said.
"If the players are watching or listening to this and taking what we are saying on board and trying to improve, that’s exactly what I want. I want the best for the [Chelsea] team.
“It is amazing to see that he [Nicholas Jackson] is taking what I am saying on board and trying to improve, and my God, the way he finished the first goal and the second goal is absolutely fantastic. After 90 minutes people are saying 'Mikel you have created an absolute monster'”
