Juventus manager, Maurizio Sarri, has stated that it is annoying that Barcelona captain, Lionel Messi, has more Ballon d'Or awards than Cristiano Ronaldo.

Messi was crowned with a record 6th Ballon d'Or award in December which means he now has one ahead of Ronaldo who led Juventus to an eighth consecutive Serie A title and winning the inaugural Nations League title with Portugal.

Sarri has now expressed determination to ensure Ronaldo equals Messi's record.

“I would like to help Cristiano win the sixth Ballon d’Or first.

“It’s really annoying thinking that someone won more [Ballons d’Or] than him.

“I think about him and I think helping him, it is my goal and the goal of the team. It is right for him", Sarri said.
