Police on standby to rearrest TikToker for criticizing Pastor Adeboye

Police personnel from the Force Intelligence Department in Abuja are in Lagos State to re-arrest Olumide Ogunsanwo, popularly known as Seaking, a tiktoker, as he appears for a separate trial at a magistrate’s court in Lagos on Tuesday, SaharaReporters has gathered.

The tiktoker is set to be re-arrested by the police team within the court premises over his videos allegedly against the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye.

Seaking is appearing at a magistrate court sitting on Tuesday, for a separate trial earlier instituted against him by the police.

“A Nigerian police contingent from the Police FID unit in Abuja has again laid siege on the premises at the Magistrate Court in Lagos to rearrest Olumide Ogunsanwo over his videos against Pastor E.A Adeboye.

“The Police Team is advised to refrain from rearresting Olumide Ogunsanwo. And to vacate the premises of the courthouse,” human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore said.

Seaking was first arrested in December 2024 for insulting President Bola Tinubu and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in his widely circulated videos on social media.

The police had accused him of cyberstalking, treason and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace.

He was rearrested during a court appearance in February 2025 over alleged cyberbullying against Pastor Adeboye and flown to Abuja.

The police had then claimed that a petition was submitted by Paul James Adama, representing a Christian association, on behalf of the Pastor.
