Former West Ham United and Celtic striker, Frank McAvennie wants his former club to sign Leicester City midfielder, Kelechi Iheanacho.
Iheanacho is currently out of contract and has been linked with a move to Aston Villa, Wolverhampton Wanderers and West Ham United.
“I like Iheanacho. I think he’s a great player. Oh my god, on a free transfer, I’d take him. It’s a no-brainer for me, though I’m not sure who this new manager will want,” the 64-year-old said in an interview with West Ham Zone.
McAvennie who played 68 games, scoring 16 goals between 1989 and 1992 admitted his love for Iheanacho and wants West Ham to sign him to help aid their attack ahead of next season.
Fellow country compatriot, Wilfred Ndidi is also a free agent after spending seven years at the King Power Stadium.
He has been linked with a move to bigger clubs, but the versatile midfielder has his heart set on a club that will be playing in the UEFA Champions League next season.
Iheanacho has a decent goal-contribution record in the English Premier League with a hand in a goal every 117 minutes.
