Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has encouraged residents of Opobo Town in Opobo, Nkoro Local Government Area to continue supporting his administration in the midst of recent chaos that has affected the state.

Fubara made this appeal during the commissioning of Opobo Ring Road and Three Nos Bridges on Monday, December 16, 2024.

During his speech, the governor assured the people that he understands their problems and will address their needs in due time.

He also mentioned that the project was initiated by the previous Nyesom Wike-led administration on May 28, 2023.

Dr. Dauda Lawal, the Governor of Zamfara State, graced the event as the Special Guest of Honour.

"I know your problems, I know your faces and I know your name and I know what we need. So I will just thank you for all the support, you stood by us when it mattered most and I am happy that decision was not a mistake because we are still standing very strong and stronger every day," he said.

"I have an appeal and the appeal I want to make to the great kingdom is to continue to be peaceful. Other things are going to come, we intend to bring higher education to this place."

In response to Fubara's continuation of projects initiated by the previous administration, popular journalist Rufai Oseni criticized the governor's political opponents for their silence at this time.

"Fubara is doing projects now his enemies are quiet," he posted on X.
