The end of an era - Gov AbdulRazaq reacts as former Gov Lawal dies

Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has reacted to the death of former Military Governor of Benue, retired Air Vice Marshal Adebayo Lawal.

Lawal, a former minister of youths and sport died on Sunday at 83 years old.

In a press statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye on Monday in Ilorin, AbdulRazaq consoled the family of the deceased, Offa community and the Nigerian Air Force.

The governor said the death of the former minister represents the end of an era in Nigeria’s military history, especially the Nigerian Air Force, where he attained many milestones.

“His footprints in the Nigerian Air Force, his fine legacies as a community leader and statesman, and the ideals he lived for will help to preserve his memory”, the governor said.

AbdulRazaq prayed God for the repose of Lawal’s soul and to preserve his family.

Born on Sept. 14, 1941, in Offa, Kwara, Lawal joined the Nigerian Air Force in 1963 as pioneer officer.
