A man who has not yet been identified was apprehended for possessing a bomb on the premises of a bank in Dadin Kowa town in the Jos South area of Plateau State.

He confessed that he was forced into the act by Boko Haram.

The man confessed after his plan to wreak havoc in the bank was foiled by security vigilantes in the area.

When asked if he was sent by Boko Haram, he responded affirmatively. He also confirmed he was sent to the bank to harm people.

According to The Punch, the man was restrained when the bomb was discovered to prevent a tragedy.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama shared a video of the incident on X on Tuesday, May 14, stating that the vigilante security at the bank stopped the attack by identifying the suspect.

An angry mob reacted to the news by demanding that the suspect be killed. However, he was later handed over to the police for further investigation.

A picture attached to Makama’s post showed the bomb strapped around the suspect’s belly. It is unclear if the suspect has any connections to terrorist organizations in the country.
