I will work for Edo’s prosperity — Ighodalo

The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the September 21 Edo State governorship election, Asue Ighodalo, has promised to work for the growth of businesses and eradicate poverty if elected into power.

Ighodalo, who stated this at New Benin Market while speaking to the traders on Monday, said he would also promote prosperity for all.

He also vowed to ensure that those who torment the traders with illegal levies would never return to the market to harass or intimidate them again.

He described the PDP as the light, urging the traders to shun darkness.

He emphasised the need to work together for the progress and development of Edo State as the election draws near.

He said, “I thank the traders for receiving me and I promise that I would work assiduously for the growth and development of their businesses and promote prosperity for all.

“There is light and darkness. We are the light. Vote for the PDP. It’s the light. There’s good and there’s bad. The PDP represents good. So vote for the PDP.

“I will work tirelessly until there is no more poverty. See me as your son, like a son you laboured to train through school, now working and he is back to take care of you, I will work to make you happy.

“There are places that are not as richly endowed as Edo State but they are doing very well. We can do the same,” he stated.

Ighodalo’s wife, Ifeyinwa, expressed gratitude for the warm reception accorded her husband and his entourage and assured the traders that her husband would fulfill his promise to the traders and the people of Edo State.

She stated that she would also support her husband to ensure that he fulfills his promise to the traders.

She also distributed aprons and wrappers to the women.
