Alhaji Mohammed Sabitu Aliyu, the acting chairman of the Labour Party in Bauchi State has confirmed it is committed to the leadership of National Chairman Julius Abure.
Speaking to journalists, he described Abure as the best chairman the party has produced since its formation.
He commended Abure’s performance since assuming office, adding that the Abure-led leadership “has the capacity, capability, and wherewithal to move the party to greater heights, especially in future elections.”
According to him, the leadership of the party is actively working with other stakeholders to deepen the democratic practices within the party in order to enhance its prospects for future elections across the country.
Reflecting on the 2023 general elections, Sabitu Aliyu noted that Abure’s efforts in presenting an acceptable candidate for Nigerians contributed to the Labour Party’s popularity.
“With Julius Abure’s commitment, zeal, and patriotism towards building a strong and vibrant Labour Party, the future of the party is bright,” Sabitu Aliyu asserted.
He added: “Now that Nigerians have tried PDP and APC and are more aware, informed, and experienced, they recognise that the only hope for the common man is our great party, the Labour Party.”
His comments come after Abure's position as National Chairman was contested by the Nigeria Labour Congress as he sought a second term at the party’s recent national convention held in Nnewi, Anambra State.
