Julius Abure born on June 24, 1971, is a Nigerian lawyer and politician who is currently the National Chairman of the Labour Party(LP). Before being elected as the party’s Chairman in 2021, he was the National Secretary for the Party. He became the party’s National chairman following the death of his predecessor, Abdukadir Abdusalam.

Julius Abure, as the National Chairman of the Labour Party (LP) in Nigeria, has faced several political challenges and controversies, especially in the context of the party's growing prominence in the country's political landscape. There have been internal power struggles and disagreements over party direction and strategy, accusations of mismanagement, and lack of transparency in the party’s affairs. These accusations have led to calls for his resignation by certain factions within the party.

Recently, the Court of Appeal affirmed his position, overturning a previous High Court decision that had barred him from his role due to allegations of forgery and conspiracy. The appellate court found procedural errors in the original case and awarded costs against the respondent

Abure has also received the backing of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, who have both recognized him as the legitimate leader of the party.

Despite these challenges and controversies, Julius Abure has remained a significant figure in Nigerian politics, largely due to his ability to mobilize support and articulate the Labour Party’s vision for Nigeria’s future.
