Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah has appointed the reigning Miss Universe Nigeria, Chidimma Adetshina, as the state’s ambassador.

The Governor announced on Thursday, October 10, 2024, while visiting the Government House in Enugu with her father, Okechukwu Onwe, a Nigerian model born in South Africa.

Peter Mbah complimented Chidimma’s resilience, emphasising her tenacity and capacity to overcome obstacles, calling her a “true representation of the people of Enugu.”

He emphasised her ability to inspire the youth of Enugu State, particularly young females, via her narrative of endurance.

The governor said, “Your story is inspiring. Despite attempts to malign and discourage you, you demonstrated that you are a true daughter of Enugu State. You overcame those challenges with the grit and resilience the people of Enugu are known for. You can act as a major influence on our young people, especially girls."

While Chidimma Adetshina gets ready to represent Nigeria in the forthcoming Miss Universe contest in Mexico, the governor gave her the assurance that the state will support her. He urged her to share her path and experiences with young people in order to mentor and inspire them.

Chidimma Adetshina thanked the people of Enugu for their cordial welcome in her reply.
