Controversial Nollywood actor Uche Maduagwu has criticized Nigerian music legend Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, over his recent political appointment in Benue State.
2Baba was appointed as the Technical Adviser on Entertainment and Community Outreach to Governor Hyacinth Alia on Wednesday, April 23, during a visit to the state government house in Makurdi.
Reacting to the news, Maduagwu took to Instagram to question the singer’s acceptance of the role, alleging that 2Baba had turned it down several times in the past.
He wrote: “Unbelievable! 2Baba, is this not the same Special Adviser to #Benue Governor Job you allegedly Rejected severally, years ago for being BELOW your STATUS? No be the same Job you are joyfully and thankfully accepting just to make people think you are doing well or Progressing? Do you think this information will not come out?”
The actor went further, suggesting the appointment was part of an effort by 2Baba to maintain a positive public image following his reported separation from his wife, Annie Idibia, now known as Annie Macaulay.
“2Baba is doing everything to make people think his doing well. The same special adviser to Benue Governor job you allegedly rejected many times, years ago for being below your status na wetin you dey joyfully accept now,” Maduagwu added.
His post has sparked reactions online, with fans debating the motivations behind 2Baba’s decision and Maduagwu’s sharp commentary.
