Veteran musician, Daddy Showkey has called out Niger State governor, Umar Bago over his directive that security operatives should arrest individuals with dreadlocks.

Recall Bago, gave the controversial order in a security meeting at Minna on Tuesday, April 22.

According to him, the move was part of government's effort to curb the resurgence of insecurity in Minna, the state capital.

However, reacting to the declaration in an Instagram post on Thursday, Daddy Showkey, who is known for his signature dreadlocks, questioned whether dreadlocks were the cause of insecurity.

While revealing plans to cancel his scheduled trip to Niger State following the directive, Showkey challenged the governor to cut off his own beard first before cutting people’s hair.

He wrote: “Mohammed Umar na Dada be your problem? I dey come to Minna but now that you asked your security agents to cut off dreadlocks, so hold your state but make you cut your beer beer.”
