Nigerian music journalist Ayomide Tayo has responded to veteran Nollywood actress Ngozi Ezeonu for criticizing two ladies who attended a movie audition without wearing bras.
During the audition, Ngozi Ezeonu, who was a judge, reprimanded two young aspiring actresses for their choice of clothing. The two women arrived in leggings and crop tops without wearing bras, which offended the seasoned actress.
Ngozi Ezeonu questioned why the women would show up to an audition without a bra and dressed inappropriately.
Expressing her disapproval, Ngozi Ezeonu stated, "If any lady shows up dressed like this on a day when I'm overseeing an audition, I will disqualify them."
In response, Ayomide Tayo found some old album covers to challenge the actress's criticism of the young actresses. The album covers featured women who were partially nude and braless, suggesting that the older generation was not as conservative as they appeared.
Ayomide also pointed out that Ngozi Ezeonu likely did not listen to those albums when they were released, which may explain her criticism of the braless women at the audition.
He wrote, "I'm sure Ngozi Ezeonu didn't listen to these Nigerian albums when they came out. I discovered these album covers while digging in the crates. They are from Clover Sound, a Nigerian record label in the 70s. Our parents are not as holy as they portray."
