The Idibia family is currently making the headlines after legendary singer Innocent Idibia often known as 2Baba announced on Sunday, January 26 that he and his actress wife, Annie Idibia have been separated for soem time now and they are currently in a divorce process.

The news came as a shock to many who criticized 2Baba for being heartless and trying to divorce Annie despite all she has gone through and endured in the marriage. Many people including celebrities have added their voices to the matter as they note how Annie has been looking miserable in recent times.

Among the celebrities who have weighed in on the discussion are Toke Makinwa, Tosin Silverdam, Mary Njoku, and Ifedayo Agoro.

Mary Njoku, who denounced 2Baba's behavior, reminded him that Annie is not alone and has a large following of people who respect her decisions and have been silent for a long time. She expressed fear for her safety and chastised 2Baba for disparaging the actress and mother of his children while she was at her lowest point.

She also promised 2Baba that there would be a lot of questions for him to respond to when the time came.

She wrote, “Bro, Annie has a family of, your sisters-in-law are many, and we’ve stayed quiet out of respect for her tough choices. But since you’ve decided to humiliate her at her lowest, no wahala,. It’s your choice, just make sure she’s healthy and ok. Because when the time comes, we’ll have plenty of questions for you.”

Ifedayo Agoro, a well-known businessman and the creator of DANG, has also criticized 2Baba for publicly announcing his divorce from his wife, Annie, at a time when the public was criticizing Annie for her participation in the Young Famous and African reality show.

She wrote: “First they groom you, then you lose yourself and then they dump you. I am sooo angry! l never involve myself with things like this but this is disgusting behaviour by this man. In the time when this woman is being bashed, you had to say this? Knowing you constantly humiliated her publicly since I was 18 years old? Why now? Why heap more fire on her reputation? Never ever ever choose a man over yourself No one is INDISPENSABLE! Gosh!”

Media personality Tosin Silverdam has also contributed to the conversation. He asked why men are generally held responsible for marital problems. This question was raised by Tosin Silverdam in response to the public outcry 2Baba faced after declaring his divorce from Annie Idibia.
