Afrobeats singer Davido and his wife Chioma Adeleke have left Nigeria to begin their honeymoon, just hours after their lavish wedding on Tuesday, June 25 at Harbour Point in the Victoria Island area of Lagos State.
A video that emerged in the early hours of Thursday, June 27 shows the couple walking on the tarmac of an airport, heading towards their private jet.
In a post on his Instagram page, Davido wrote: "Thank you for making our wedding a magical one. We really appreciate it and we love you. Love won."
Aside from the couple, some of Davido's team, including Asa Asika, Lati, and Chioma's manager Ubi Franklin, were present. However, Davido's aide, Isreal DMW, and his best friend, Cubana Chiefpriest, were absent.
The wedding of the duo dominated trends on social media and traditional media.
The event was a gathering of the crème de la crème of the entertainment industry and other top dignitaries.
Leading the pack was former Nigerian President Olusegun Aremu Obasanjo, who was later joined by Oba Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, the esteemed Ooni of Ife, who showed up in his signature white attire and beaded crown.
The elder statesman was spotted exchanging warm pleasantries with the Ooni as they arrived at the venue. Their presence, alongside other distinguished guests, added a regal touch to the already glamorous affair.
The guest list also included the likes of former Akwa Ibom State Governor Udom Emmanuel, Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki, Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, Senator Daisy Danjuma of Edo South, and Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu.
Adding to the glittering assembly were Abia State Governor Alex Otti and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. Not to forget Osun Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State – Afrobeats star uncle – who was present and proud as one of many family members.
The ceremony also saw an impressive turnout from the entertainment industry. Celebrities such as Patoranking and singer Paul Okoye, better known as Rudeboy, graced the occasion.
The event’s master of ceremonies was media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, who ensured that the proceedings flowed smoothly, adding his charm and charisma to the celebration.
