NIDCOM is not useless- Abike fires back at Twitter user

Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri has defended her team to a Twitter user, @accolade29 who described them as a failure.

Apparently, another Twitter user @BadiyaMani is having issues with evacuation. In the same vein, she also lost one of her children in the process.

Seeking a flight that will take her home to bury her son has been futile.

"How long can we continue this way? I came here since November 1st, 2019 with my little boy, unfortunately, I lost him here on the 22nd of May, will I be asking for too much if am allowed to go back to the rest of my family and cry in peace?" she asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs, GeoffreyOnyeama and NIDCOM boss, Abike Dabiri.

In response, the NIDCOM boss held Geoffrey Onyeama, Minister of Foreign Affairs responsible for the evacuations.

Everyone knows that decisions rest with @GeoffreyOnyeama (NiDCOM is useless) who has since pushed it on the PTF, which is further thrown to the national coordinator that is working on some magic repatriation protocol. Thank you for everything!

However, @7586 tagged NIDCOM as useless. He said he was tired of the blame games played by the Minister, PTF and the NIDCOM.

@accolade29 latched onto it and kept dragging all Government agencies as failures.

Abike would have none of that.

In her agency's defence, she said: "Nidcom actually very efficient. But in this instance, we were not given the task. This is not strictly a Nidcom schedule. However. If we had been saddled with the task, we would have taken full responsibility. Pls, await the Minister’s update. He will do his best."

She also stressed that it was not their assignment.
