Southampton midfielder Joe Aribo has expressed confidence in Eric Chelle's system ahead of Nigeria's crucial World Cup qualifier against Rwanda.
Aribo has returned to the team for the first time since his last appearance in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations final against Côte d'Ivoire in February of last year.
The 28-year-old earned a place in Eric Chelle's first squad following his recent performances for Southampton in the Premier League.
Speaking ahead of the crucial encounter against the Amavubi on Friday, March 21, the former Rangers star shared his delight at rejoining the team.
“It’s a really good feeling. I’m happy to be back, happy to get involved with my team, and to achieve the results we are aiming for,” he told Oganla Media.
Aribo further emphasized that the team is aligned with Eric Chelle's style of play and determined to execute it on the pitch.
“It’s a good feeling. We believe in what he wants from us and what he aims to implement in the game. We just have to trust in what he tells us and carry it into the matches,” he added.
