Former Super Eagles head coach Samson Siasia has urged Nigerians to rally behind Eric Chelle ahead of the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifier against Rwanda.
The Malian tactician will oversee his first game as head coach when Nigeria faces Rwanda on Friday, March 21.
The three-time African champions are in desperate need of a victory, having managed just three points in four matches during the qualifiers.
Nigeria currently sits in fifth place in Group C, just above Lesotho, who are at the bottom of the table with two points.
Rwanda, Benin, and South Africa lead the group with seven points each, while Zimbabwe follows closely with four points.
In a recent interview with Brila FM, Siasia emphasized the importance of supporting Eric Chelle in his new role as Super Eagles head coach.
“We need to support our coach Eric Chelle for him to succeed as Super Eagles manager," he said.
“Regardless of the situation, Nigerians must be behind Eric Chelle so that he can qualify the team for the 2026 World Cup.”
