2026 World Cup Qualifiers: Aghahowa predicts Nigeria vs Rwanda clash

Former Nigerian international Julius Aghahowa has backed the Super Eagles to beat Rwanda in the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The Super Eagles are in a precarious situation and in dire need of a win to keep their hopes of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup alive.

The 2023 AFCON finalists are without a win in their first four matches in the qualifying series, with just three points after four games.

Despite losing 2-1 at home to Rwanda in their last encounter back in November, Aghahowa believes Nigeria will triumph against the Amavubi later this month.

“I am confident if they go into the game with the right mentality, they will win in Rwanda,” the former international said as quoted by SCORENigeria.

“The boys are in top form, their talent is never in doubt, but they have to work on their mentality when they play for the country.

“Some of them see playing for the Super Eagles as a holiday, but if they give 120% for Nigeria, we will get the result we need.”

Rwanda will host the Super Eagles on Friday, March 21, at the Amahoro Stadium.
