New head coach of Rwanda, Adel Amrouche, believes the Amavubi can qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which would be a big blow to the Super Eagles.

The Algerian international was appointed as the new head coach for the Amavubi last Sunday, March 2, ahead of the crucial World Cup qualifiers.

Rwanda will host the Super Eagles in the 5th match of the qualifying series at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali on Friday, March 21.

The East African side currently sits at the top of Group C with seven points after four games.

Amrouche is confident about his team's chances of securing qualification for the Mundial.

“We should believe we can do something special,” the 56-year-old declared after he began work as the new coach of the Amavubi.

“I will do all my best to achieve, but I alone do not have the magic wand. Together, we will make Rwanda the best in Africa.”
