Udeze reveals why Super Eagles must be wary of Rwanda clash

Former international Ifeanyi Udeze has warned the Super Eagles of the difficulty in beating Rwanda away in their previous meetings.

Udeze disclosed this ahead of Nigeria's crucial upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda later this month.

The Amavubi will host the Super Eagles on Friday, March 17 at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali.

Head coach Eric Chelle has named his 23-man squad ahead of the clash with Rwanda and Zimbabwe, which will follow a couple of days later.

Nigeria have managed draws in their last three visits to Rwanda, scoring just once in these encounters.

The three-time African champions cannot afford to drop any more points if they want to keep their hopes of qualifying for the Mundial alive.

“We always find it difficult to beat Rwanda away,” Udeze said on Monday’s edition of Sports Machine on Brila FM.

“I remember during my time in the Super Eagles we drew away to them, but I hope things will be different this time around because if we want to be at next year’s World Cup we need to win the rest of our games, and one of the must-win games is away to Rwanda.”

Meanwhile, ahead of the clash, the Rwandan Football Federation has appointed Algeria’s Adel Amrouche as the new head coach for the Amavubi.
