Former Chelsea midfielder John Mikel Obi has named Arsenal legend Thierry Henry as the greatest Premier League player of all time.
The prestigious English Premiership has been graced with great talents in recent years, including the likes of Alan Shearer, Frank Lampard, Didier Drogba, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Mohamed Salah, among others.
Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer, who is the Premier League's leading goal scorer with 260 goals, is widely considered the greatest player in the history of the Premier League.
Others believe Cristiano Ronaldo deserves a mention despite spending just six years in the Premiership.
Liverpool's Mohamed Salah, who has also registered 178 goals and 82 assists, is also a strong contender.
However, the former Super Eagles captain believes that Frenchman Thierry Henry is the greatest Premier League player of all time.
“Numbers-wise, you can put Salah in the conversation, but when you want to talk about a complete player, you can’t put him in the conversation,” Mikel said on the Obi One Podcast.
“I’m a huge fan of Salah; he’s my friend. I knew him from my days at Chelsea, although he’s a different Salah now—so confident, mentally and physically stronger.
“The best player to have played in the Premier League is Thierry Henry. There was a period when he dominated the league for two to three years. He had everything—he was so good on the ball, he had everything.”
