Nigerian international Victor Boniface is set to miss Bayer Leverkusen's final game of 2024.
The 23-year-old will not be in action when the Bundesliga title holders take on Freiburg at the Bay Arena later today (Saturday, December 21).
Boniface sustained an injury while on international duty with Nigeria last month and is yet to fully recover from the setback.
Despite returning to full training this week, Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso has disclosed that the Super Eagles striker will not be available for this weekend's clash.
“Victor Boniface, Amine Adli, and Jonas Hoffmann are unavailable for the game due to injuries,” Alonso told reporters ahead of the game.
However, Boniface's Nigerian compatriot Nathan Tella is expected to be in action for the reigning German champions.
Boniface has registered eight goals in 15 appearances across all competitions for Leverkusen this season.
