The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has urged Chelsea defender Tosin Adarabioyo to officially inform the federation if he is ready to play for the Super Eagles.
The NFF reached out to the 27-year-old on different occasions in their bid to lure him to commit his international future to Nigeria, but the player declined the invitation.
The former Fulham centre-back also played down attempts by former Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro to feature for Nigeria at the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire.
However, recent reports indicate that the English-born Nigerian is now ready to feature for the three-time African champions.
In response to the speculations, the NFF has declared that the player will have to formally inform the federation to be considered for a call-up.
“Jose Peseiro travelled to meet with him in the UK last year to speak to him about playing for Nigeria, but he told the coach at that time that he was not ready,” a source at the NFF told ESPN.
“If he wants to make the switch now, he knows what to do.”
