The new format of the UEFA Champions League is well and truly underway, as Wednesday, October 2 saw the conclusion of all the matchday two fixtures.

Clubs like Borussia Dortmund, Barcelona, Manchester City, Stade Brest, Inter Milan, Benfica, and Atalanta were the biggest winners of matchday two.

Shockingly, top clubs including Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Atletico Madrid all lost their games.

Los Blancos lost 1-0 away at Lille, Bayern Munich also suffered a 1-0 defeat away to Aston Villa, and Benfica thumped Atletico Madrid 4-0 in Lisbon.

Seven teams, including Borussia Dortmund, Brest, Benfica, Leverkusen, Liverpool, Aston Villa, and Juventus, have so far managed to win all their first two games and are sitting comfortably at the top of the league log.

The likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, and Arsenal all find themselves outside the top 8.
