Former Super Eagles striker Emmanuel Emenike has kicked against reports linking Manchester United's Anthony with a move to his former club Fenerbahce.
With the transfer window still open in Turkey until September 13, reports have linked the Brazilian international with a move to Jose Mourinho's team.
However, transfer market expert, Fabrizio Romano on Thursday, September 5, described the reports as false and stated that the player remains committed to the Old Trafford outfit.
In a post on X, the transfer guru wrote: "No truth in Antony-Fenerbahçe links from Turkey as he’s fully committed to Man Utd project. No intention to leave the club this summer, as always stated by those close to the Brazilian winger."
Reacting to Romano's post, former Fenerbahce striker Emmanuel Emenike wrote:
"Please no thank you. We need much better. Fenerbahce is not a school. We need ready players".
Emenike featured for Fenerbahce from 2013 to 2017 and managed 25 goals and 22 assists in 92 appearances for the Turkish Super Lig giants.
Anthony has failed to justify his big money move from Ajax to Manchester United two seasons ago.
The former Sao Paulo forward joined the Red Devils from Ajax in a deal worth €95 million in the summer of 2022.
