UEFA on Thursday, August 29, celebrated former Super Eagles goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama as he turned 42.
Then former Lille shot stopper holds a rare record as one of four goalkeepers to have scored in UEFA's prestigious club competition, the Champions League.
The other four goalkeepers are Hans-Jörg But (Hamburg, Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen), Sinan Bolat (Standard Liège) and Ivan Provedel (Lazio).
Enyeama scored from the spot for Hapoel Tel Aviv in their UEFA Champions League clash against Lyon in August 2010.
The Super Eagles legend's 79th-minute spot kick only counted as a consolation as his Israeli side lost 3-1 to the French club.
Enyeama is the only African to manage this remarkable feat and the only one among the four goalkeepers whose side lost the game despite hitting the back of the net as a goalkeeper.
