Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has signed a new three-year contract with the Chippa United, bringing an end to the speculations surrounding his future.
After an impressive display in the 2023 African Cup of Nations, Nwabali was linked with a move away from the PSL side with clubs like Kaizer Chiefs and Queens Park Rangers reportedly interested in his signature.
Chippa United confirmed that they have received over 10 offers for the former Enyimba FC goalkeeper.
In a latest report as per GOAL, the Super Eagles shot stopper has penned a new three-year deal with the Chilli Boys.
“We are pleased to announce that Stanley Nwabali has signed an improved three-year contract with Chippa United FC. We are incredibly proud of Stanley’s dedication and commitment to the club. His leadership on and off the field has been exemplary, and we believe he is the right person to guide our team through the challenges ahead. With this been said Stanley will be our new team captain for the upcoming season.
We wish Stanely continued success in his career, both in domestic competitions and on the international stage. We look forward to achieving great things together in the seasons to come,” the club announced.
Nwabali was among the 23-man squad invited by newly appointed Super Eagles head coach Bruno Labbadia for the upcoming 2025 AFCON qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda.
