Minister of Sports, John Enoh, is set to meet the agent of soon-to-be-appointed Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle in Paris, France, to finalize the contractual agreement, according to reports.

The 46-year-old Chelle has emerged as the leading candidate for the vacant role as per widespread media reports.

Chelle was reportedly chosen as the preferred candidate ahead of Belgium tactician Tom Saintfeit and Englishman Steve McClaren.

OwnGoalNigeria reports that the NFF plans to give the Malian tactician a short-term contract which will cover the period of the AFCON qualifiers.

The contract will be performance-based which means it can be subject to termination if the team's performance does not improve.

NFF president Ibrahim Gusau is also expected to attend the meeting as he is currently in Paris for the ongoing Olympic Games.

The new gaffer will be charged with getting the Super Eagles World Cup campaign back on track after a disappointing start in the initial qualifying games.
