Osimhen to Arsenal takes new twist as Gunners target Benjamin Šeško signs new deal with RB Leipzig

Contrary to recent reports, Victor Osimhen's potential move to Arsenal could be back on track after the Gunners' primary target, Benjamin Šeško, signed a new deal.

Benjamin Šeško, who was Arsenal's main target this summer, has extended his contract with RB Leipzig until 2029.

The 21-year-old's decision has dealt a significant blow to Premier League giants Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United, who were all interested in securing his signature.

Šeško had an impressive campaign for the Bundesliga outfit, scoring 14 goals in 17 Bundesliga starts last season.

With Šeško off the table, Arsenal will now need to explore other options in their pursuit of a prolific striker.

TalkSPORT correspondent Alex Crook has indicated that Arsenal have redirected their focus to Victor Osimhen and Juventus' Dusan Vlahovic.

“Šeško will sign a new contract, probably with a release clause. I think this time next year we’re going to be talking about him again, but it is a blow for Arsenal because they need that a striker. Names mentioned to me earlier today in terms of alternatives, the likes of Victor Osimhen, but he’s got a massive release clause [£112million]. Vlahovic as well, but obviously they flirted with him before, and he didn’t really give them the time of day, so I can’t really see that one,” Crook told TalkSPORT.

Despite signing a new deal last December, Osimhen has been linked with a move away from the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium this summer.
