Nigerian football superstar, Asisat Oshoala, has cemented her place in history as the first African footballer, male or female, to claim three UEFA Champions League titles.
Oshoala's triumphant journey with Barcelona Femení culminated in their 2-0 victory over Lyon Feminin in the 2023 final, securing the Spanish giants' third European crown in the span of just four years.
The Super Falcons star participated in the UWCL group stage with Barcelona, making two appearances and scoring once before her move.
The victory marked an extraordinary season for Blaugranes, who, for the first time, have clinched a historic quadruple in one season, per BSN Sports. These include the Liga F, Copa de la Reina, Supercopa de Espana, and the UWCL.
Despite departing the Spanish club in January to join Bay FC in the United States, the Nigerian's invaluable contributions to the club's campaign have earned her the right to receive a coveted winners' medal.
Oshoala's prowess on the pitch was instrumental in Barcelona's maiden UCL triumph in 2021, when she netted four goals, and their second title in 2022, when she scored five more. This was the second-highest tally in the tournament.
She took to her X handle to celebrate the team's success and confirmed she would be receiving a winners' medal.
