Leicester City's midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi, has sustained an injury just weeks before the commencement of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Nigerian international was missing in action during the Foxes' 4-1 victory against Huddersfield Town at the King Power Stadium on Monday, January 1.

Confirming the news, Leicester's manager, Enzo Maresca, disclosed Ndidi's injury in a post-match statement.

According to Leicester City's BBC correspondent, Owynn Palmer-Atkin, the Leicester City boss disclosed that Ndidi was absent due to an injury.

Both Ndidi and Iheanacho are set to join up with Nigeria on Tuesday, January 2, but at appears the duo is not hundred percent fit to play.

Kelechi Iheanacho has missed Leicester's last two Championship games due to a muscular problem.

As the Super Eagles gear up for the AFCON 2023, preparations are set to kick off in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on Tuesday.
