Osimhen came down to Nigeria ahead of the upcoming 2023 African Cup of Nations tournament in Ivory Coast.
The Super Eagles star was released by Napoli for the biennial competition following his sending-off against Roma in the Serie A in his last game.
The suspension meant that the striker had played his last game for his club side in 2023 which prompted his immediate release for the all-important national assignment in Cote D'Ivoire.
Nigeria are drawn in Group A, alongside host Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea and Guinea-Bissau.
