In 2020, Javier Zanetti and Christian Vieri shared some intriguing anecdotes about Taribo West's tenure at Inter Milan during a live Instagram session.

The former Inter Milan duo recounted how their former teammate turned a dinner invitation into a long prayer meeting.

According to Zanetti, he and several Inter Milan players were invited to dinner at the house of the former footballer-turned-pastor. However, they left frustrated and starved after Taribo West led them in hours of prayer without serving any food.

Zanetti also mentioned Taribo West's unique behavior, including his sudden disappearance to Nigeria for about a month to get married.

"He disappeared for the entire month of January. We searched for him, and he returned on February 1st. When he came back, he told me, 'Captain, I got married. In my country, it works like this, it's a month of vacation.' He was unique."

"There was also this time when he invited us for his birthday around 7pm. When we arrived, he started to pray. One hour, two hours, three hours... We were incredibly hungry! But the anniversary ended like that. In the end, we left without eating," the former Inter Milan player said on Instagram.

Taribo West made 44 appearances for Inter Milan and scored a goal during his two-year stint at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium from 1997 to 1999.
