The coach of the Mexican National Team, Gerardo Martino, says friendly against Nigeria is a good test for his team ahead of the Gold Cup.
The El Tri defeated their Nigerian counterparts 4-0 at the Memorial Coliseum, Los Angeles, California.
Hector Herrera’s double and a goal each from Funes Mori and Jonathan dos Santos secured the complete victory for the team.
Speaking after the game, Garrado Mariko said the match was a very good test for his team ahead of the forthcoming CONCAF Gold Cup.
“It was a good test. It always gives peace of mind, especially since we are on the eve of a very important tournament for us.”
“Recovering feelings of the game and scoring goals, gives a greater margin of tranquillity, this is a friendly match, it has been a good test and a good way to introduce ourselves into what is to come,” stated Gerardo.
Prior to a resounding victory over Nigeria, the Mexicans defeated Panama 3-0 at Nissan Stadium Nashville, Tennessee on Thursday.
