Nigeria have made history at the ongoing Paris Olympics as the trio of Ese Brume, Ruth Usoro and Prestina Ochonogor have secured a spot women’s long jump final.

It is the first time three Nigerian women long jumpers have reached finals at the Olympic Games.

The trio will be competing with nine other athletes for a podium finish.

Ese Brume, an Olympic bronze medalist jumped a distance of 6.76m to secure a spot in the final.

Ruth Usoro also qualified with the mark of 6.68, while Prestina Ochonogor also managed 6.65m.

The final will take place on Wednesday, August 9.
