Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo has lauded Nigerian international Taiwo Awoniyi following their triumph over Exeter City in the FA Cup.
Awoniyi scored the second goal for the Tricky Trees as they edged the third-tier English side 4-2 in the shootout on Tuesday night.
It was the second goal of the season for the 27-year-old, who has lost his starting role to the in-form Chris Wood.
Awoniyi was subbed off for Chris Wood after sustaining a broken nose following a collision with the Exeter City goalkeeper.
Portuguese tactician Santo heaped praise on the Super Eagles forward after the game and shared updates on his injury.
“I think he broke his nose, but he’s walking around smiling. He did an amazing job, he did really well today,” he told talkSPORT.
