As the end of another thrilling Premier League season beckons, Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has named Manchester City's clash with Arsenal as the biggest game of the season.
The Premier League title holders beat the challengers 4-1 at the Etihad Stadium to boost their chances of defending their title.
Goals from Haaland, De Bruyne and Stones ensured that Rob Holding's 86th-minute strike only counted for a consolation for Mikel Arteta's side.
The Liverpool legend believes the game played a huge role in the title race.
Carragher also believes Manchester City will eventually beat the Gunners to the title race with a win over Everton this weekend.
“City’s recent win over Arsenal was the biggest game of the season in terms of the title race, but in a different way, Sunday is even more significant,” Carragher told the Telegraph.
He added, “It is impossible to see City dropping four points in any of their remaining games post-Goodison, and there is no way Everton are going down if they pull off an unlikely win. City are on the threshold of matching the most glorious chapter in English football.
“If City win, there will no longer be a belief that they can win the Treble. It will become an expectation that they will do so.”
With 82 points, Pep Guardiola's side are one point ahead of Arsenal with 4 matches left to play, plus a game in hand.
