Italian Serie A champions Napoli have identified Lille's Jonathan David as a potential replacement for Victor Osimhen in case the Nigerian international leaves the club in the summer.

II Mattino reports that Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis is considering reaching another deal with the French club for the Canadian international after signing Osimhen from the same club nearly three seasons ago.

The Super Eagles striker joined the Naples-based club for a club-record fee of €70 million potentially rising to €80 million with add-ons, making him the most expensive African transfer to date.

While Napoli's president doesn't want the likes of Osimhen Kim Min-Jae to leave this summer, he believes the interest from the Premier League can be too much of a temptation for them.

For this reason, he has shortlisted some players as potential replacements should the duo leave the club.

As per reports, Atalanta’s Rasmus Højlund and Sassuolo’s Armand Lauriente are also on Napoli’s shortlist apart from Jonathan.
