Nigerian goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has revealed that Serie A champions Inter Milan showed interest in signing him this summer.
The 25-year-old played a crucial role in Udinese's successful fight against relegation last season and was rewarded with a new contract.
The Super Eagles goalkeeper joined Udinese from Sky Bet Championship side Watford in the summer of 2023.
Despite starting the season as a second-choice goalkeeper, Okoye established himself as Udinese's number one shot-stopper earlier this year.
Okoye disclosed that Inter Milan attempted to sign him this summer, but the Zebras' asking price of €15m was enormous for the Nerazzurri.
“The interest from Inter was concrete, but Udinese were asking for €15m to buy me,” Okoye told Transfermarkt.
“It would’ve been a dream, but I don’t regret how things went. I am happy to still be at this club, to be the Number 1 here.
“The situation could repeat itself if I keep working hard and maintain consistent performances.”
