Former coach and former Super Eagles player Kadiri Ikhana has disclosed that he regrets sacrificing his life for Nigerian football.

Ikhana, a veteran Nigerian coach, has managed many NPFL clubs, including Kwara United, Sunshine Stars, Enyimba, Kano Pillars, and Shooting Stars.

He coached Enyimba, winning the African Champions League in 2003. He was awarded CAF's Coach of the Year that same year.

In 2004, he was manager of the Nigerian men's Olympic team.

Reflecting on his footballing career as both a player and manager, the 74-year-old stated that he should have spent his life doing something else.

"I sacrificed myself at playing and coaching level for Nigeria, but I am regretting at my old age why I did those things. Maybe I should have spent my time doing something else," Ikhana said, as quoted by Brila.

As a footballer, Ikhana represented Nigeria at the international level, playing for the national team in FIFA World Cup qualifying matches and at the 1980 Summer Olympic Games.

He won the 1980 African Cup of Nations with Nigeria.
