2026 WCQ: African highest scorers ahead of matchday 5 fixtures

Egyptian star Mohammed Salah leads the list of top scorers in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers on the African continent.

The Liverpool stalwart has so far racked up five goals in four matches during the qualifiers campaign.

Salah has helped the Pharaohs open a comfortable four-point gap at the top of Group A, ahead of second-placed Guinea-Bissau and five points clear of Burkina Faso.

Salah is the joint top scorer alongside his Egyptian teammate Mahmoud Trezeguet, who has also netted five goals in the qualifiers.

Ghana's Jordan Ayew follows the Egyptian duo closely with four goals in the campaign.

The Black Stars sit second in Group I, behind Comoros only on goal difference.
