The Tunisia Football Federation (TFF) has appointed Sami Trabelsi as the new head coach for the Carthage Eagles.

Trabelsi previously coached Tunisia between 2011 and 2013.

He resigned following the national team's failure to get past the first round at the African Nations Cup 2013.

The 57-year-old will replace Faouzi Benzarti, who was sacked in October after less than five months at the helm.

Kais Yaakoubi was in charge of the team on an interim basis for the past five months.

Tunisia were pitted in Group C during the AFCON draw in Morocco last month, alongside Nigeria, Uganda, and Tanzania.
